Northstar Healthcare owns and operates for-profit day or outpatient surgery centers (ASCs). There are two ASCs in Houston and one pain management facility for which we provide management services. Northstar also manages a third ASC in Dallas, which we have an option to acquire.

Northstar’s revenues come from the facility fee for the physician’s use of our operating room, staff and supplies.  These charges account for 99 per cent of our revenues.

ASCs comprise the most profitable part of the healthcare delivery system. Northstar's current facilities accommodate multi-specialty procedures with emphasis on Pain Management, Orthopedics, Podiatry, General Surgery, Gastro-Intestinal and Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT). By concentrating on these procedures, our profit margins far exceed ASC industry averages, in part because patients are not housed overnight and there are neither full dietary departments nor emergency surgeries.
